Welcome to EyeGambit

EyeGambit is an App designed to help you improve your visualisation skills in Chess. For all of us that want to improve and also dream of being able to play blindfold chess.

It is already out for iOS. Soon I will make it available for Android as well.

Do not judge the looks of this site. I needed an ultra quick website, but I do not have time for it. The App itself, however, has been done with a lot of dedication and love, as it is my personal passion project! My small contribution to this game I strive everyday to be better at.

No AI has been used for its development, or for the designs. Logo is a prop mixed with a piece of clothing. Other images used in the game are also pictures taken and edited by me using gimp (and patience).

Know your board like the palm of your hand

  • Choose your settings

  • Start slow, progress will come!

  • Can you find d1?

  • Naming and Color required

  • Do you prefer Tap or Keyboard mode?

  • Work hard, you'll earn that A+!

Master the movement of each piece

  • Choose your settings

  • Move the target piece to its destination

  • The game will alternate between your chosen pieces

  • If you get lost, tap the eye icon

  • You can instead answer questions with the quiz mode

  • There are different types of questions

Play an actual “blindfolded” game against a Bot

  • Choose your settings

  • If you need, start slow, choose a position you know well.

  • Read the move-book and input your moves with the keyboard

  • As always, if you get lost, take a little peek with the eye icon

  • Looking at the board will affect your score!

  • Look at the game after. Export a PGN to analyze the game, or the FEN of a certain position to use as starting position for your next try.

But wait, there is more!

  • Plenty of more settings to play with

  • Do you need to see the board but don't want to? Try an intermediate step by hiding the pieces

  • If you are brave you can hide the color as well

  • Did I mention there is also a campaign mode?

  • Each level will have a certain objetive to help you progress with your training

  • If you pass your pawns will queen! But if you fail...well, lets not do that shall we? Your pawns are counting on you!
